SilVR Impact Award

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our SilVR Impact Excellence Award, featuring a top prize of a $2,000 Flight Centre Gift Card to help turn your virtual adventures into reality! ✈️

Inspired by insights in a paper published by Appellon titled “Helpless to Hopeful: Improved Organisational Culture, Staff Wellbeing, and Quality of Care,” this initiative celebrates the incredible dedication and accomplishments of healthcare workers amid workforce shortages, particularly in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our award aims to recognise outstanding team achievements by showcasing amazing stories of using VR to foster social connection and enhance quality of life. Building on the success of exceeding project KPIs with the likes of UnitingCare QLD and Singapore’s largest care provider, St. Luke’s Eldercare, we’ve validated the positive impact of VR on staff engagement and resident wellbeing. We’ve also seen this reflected with numerous social media posts and activity from care team members, and family and friends of care recipients.

How can you participate?

We invite all SilVR Adventures customers to share their stories of using VR to enhance social connection and improve quality of life. Be creative and innovative! In the past we’ve published stories such as Summerset NZ residents leading VR sessions, Keyton using VR to welcome new residents, and providers organising themed events with family members, food, decorations and virtual tours. For example, Signature Care introduced buckets of sand to touch while at the beach, sandalwood incense sticks during a virtual trip to the Taj Mahal and organised romantic getaways to Italy for date nights. The more meaningful, personalised and impactful, the better.

As part of the award, we’re delighted to partner with Inside Ageing ahead of the inaugural Future of Ageing conference on 29th August in Darling Harbour, Sydney. In addition to the top prize, winners will receive 2x free tickets to the event and gala dinner, offering an opportunity to celebrate innovation in aged care.

To judge submissions, we’ve assembled a panel of experts from SilVR Adventures’ Board of Advisors, each bringing significant expertise in healthcare, innovation, and quality of life. Submissions are open exclusively to SilVR Adventures customers with an active VR subscription, and entries can be submitted via our online submission form until midnight on Friday 26th July, 2024.
